Fly Me To The Luna Map

Google Moon left, LROC right

NASA has launched a map of the moon's northern polar region. The LROC Northern Polar Mosaic is an interactive map of the due north pole of the Moon from threescore to xc degrees due north latitude.

The map uses satellite images which are incredibly detailed at two-meters-per-pixel too rather puts Google's ain Google Moon map to shame. The icon inwards a higher house shows the J. Herschel Crater displayed on Google Moon too the novel LROC Mosaic. The Google Moon icon on the left is fully zoomed in, piece the LROC map has 5 farther levels of zoom.

NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter entered lunar compass inwards June 2009 too it has taken 4 years to practise this mosaic icon of the moon's due north pole. It has been good worth the wait.
