Ironically, merely every moment the drought-stricken areas of Southern California hold back similar they mightiness teach some welcome rain, a really skillful map has appeared from the clouds.

Unsurprisingly this informative map of the California Drought Visualized amongst Open Data comes from the U.S. Geological Society. As y'all scroll downwards the page this USGS map explains the resultant of the drought on the H2O tabular array in addition to explores issues around H2O role due to the electrical flow drought.

The map visualization starts amongst a clever animated bar chart, synchronized to the map, showing California's reservoir volumes since 2011. As y'all progress the map goes on to explore the resultant of the drought on snowpack in addition to the knock-on resultant on river flows in addition to reservoir volumes.

The map concludes amongst an exam of H2O usage inwards the state, exploring the percent of the state's H2O used inwards irrigation in addition to for domestic & industrial use.
